When: October 7-31, 2025

Why: This is the BIGGEST annual fundraiser for RJL PTO, bringing valuable donations directly into our school to benefit our FamiLEE. 

Our school tax dollars go to CISD, however CISD has limited local control over how much of our tax revenue can be spent on our students. The state legislature determines the basic allotment per student, and the state recaptures any additional tax revenue in CISD beyond this allotment in what is commonly known as recapture. In the 2022-2023 school year, $46.5 million was recaptured from the state, and of the remaining funds received by CISD, 83% paid for teacher and staff salaries.

What does WAC do for our school: 100% of WAC donations stay at Lee, and ALL LEARNERS benefit!

PTO uses our annual WAC fundraising donations throughout the school year to help pay for:

• Bus transportation for field trips
• Author Visits
• Red Ribbon Week
• Enrichment programs from outside presenters
• Infrastructure improvements
• School Pond & Garden Fund
• 5th Grade Graduation
• Leadership Development
• School wide FamiLEE Events

How: We ask that all donations be submitted electronically through our PTO website on our Write-A-Check donation form. All donations over $200 are tax-deductible.  Also, many companies offer donation matching programs, so be sure to check with your employer for this amazing benefit!
